Personal Injury
Injuries can be caused by many things; motor vehicle accidents, defective/damaged products, criminal assault and more. Any one of these can cause you to suddenly be faced with substantial medical and/or hospital bills, lost wages, and other out-of-pocket expenses. Perhaps there may be even other, higher costs: permanent impairment, or worst case, wrongful death, horrible things that can leave a family suddenly without support, or able to take care of loved ones.
There are ways we can help, and if you have suffered an injury through no fault of your own, there may well be legal recourse available to help you recover your expenses. You will need the help and guidance from an experienced attorney who can explain and protect your legal rights. The Maring Law Firm.
Workers Compensation
What happens when you are injured on the job? What if you were suddenly faced with medical and/or hospital bills, and were unable to return to work in order to be able to pay them, or even your other bills? No matter the cause - whether an accident, exposure to harmful chemicals or substances, the prolonged stress of repetitive tasks, and more - any or all of these could lead to injuries, lost income, likely medical bills, and possible disability.
Thankfully, there are workers' compensation rights in place for when you find yourself in these circumstances. From filing the initial claim to receiving money that compensates you for your medical bills and/or lost income, having a knowledgeable attorney working with you can help you most successfully manage the claims process.
Workers' compensation laws are intended to quickly and efficiently provide compensation for injured employees. These laws were designed as a streamlined process to ease the courts workload, by minimizing delays that cause unneeded expenditures. Due to this, an injury or disability lawsuit against your employer is not permitted. However, these laws do provide a way for an employer or its insurance company to pays the injured's benefits without involving the time, effort, and expense of a lengthy, perhaps stressful and complicated courtroom battle. In the case of permanent injuries that were due to work-related injury or illness, you may be entitled to a lump-sum payment for the duress you've suffered.
Hopefully your workers compensation claim will prove easy both to make and to receive. However, since this does not always prove to be the case, we will be glad to work to help you make sure your claim process moves forward as quickly and efficiently as possible, to its best resolution.
Nursing Home/Elder Care Related
It's been shown that nearly half of Americans will eventually need to reside in an nursing home or elder care facility by the time they reach retirement age or shortly thereafter. Thus, choosing an elder care facility - whether for yourself, or a family member - is something that we heartily recommend you devote both time and research to in order that you find a facility which gives competent, professional attention to the well-being and health of its residents. Many such institutions are more than capable of doing this job quite well, and will.
Unfortunately, this is not the case with every such facility. The number of these facilities which have been cited for negligence, abuse, and mistreatment of residents is a truly scary statistic. You need to be aware of your rights in regard to the possibility of this happening to you or your loved ones, and of what recourse you are entitled to by the law. There are relevant federal and state laws which clearly establish that these facilities are liable to you and your family members, and that victims may be entitled to compensation for damages suffered as a result of the failure of these facilities to competently perform the duties they are paid for.
If you or your loved one has been the victim of physical, mental, emotional, or financial abuse or neglect at a nursing home or elder care facility, you may well have a valid case against the facility, its employees, and/or its parent company. We will investigate such incidents, and in cases where the trust you placed in the facility has been broken, will be glad to help you resolve such cases in the best possible manner.
